Today was Evan's 1st birthday and we threw him the bash of the century...well, not exactly, but it was fun. We invited friends and family to meet us at a local park and we played games, had lunch, cupcakes, and, of course, presents. It was a great time...at least for Jeff, me and Evan (I think everyone else seemed to enjoy themselves too). He had chocolate cake for the first time today. At first, he didn't seem to dig it, but then he came around. When I took it away from him (cuz I didn't want him to get a tummy ache) he did the sign for more. He helped open a couple of his presents and then, like all one-year-olds, he wasn't really into it any more. It amazes me how it seems like just yesterday he was born and he couldn't even hold his head up. Now he's walking all over the place and doing sign language. He also says a few words. His favorite word right now is "burp" (pronounced "bup" minus the -r-). When he burps he laughs and says "bup". It must be a boy thing, all though I will admit that it's pretty funny when he does it. He is quite the little comedian. He likes to make people laugh and loves all of the attention. Thanks to all of you who came. We really enjoyed the day.
